Youth killing: Police get 15-day remand of Rangers
KARACHI: Six Ranger personnel and seven others involved in the extrajudicial killing of a young man in Karachi have been remanded into police custody for 15 days, Geo News reported.
In related developments Attorney General of Pakistan Maulvi Anwar-ul-Haq said Monday, that the government would not file an appeal against the Supreme Court’s orders to remove IGP and DG Rangers Sindh from their posts in three days. He said that the orders of the Supreme Court would be upheld.
The young man Sarfaraz Shah was killed by Rangers personnel in Karachi on Wednesday. The accused in the case are being tried in an anti-terrorism court and if convicted could face life in prison or the death penalty.
